🎙️Campus Podcast & Ice Skating Day (November 30 – December 1, 2023)

❄️I decided to start December off with a festive bang. Let me explain. As you can see from the photo, I went ice skating with my friends on December 1st. As I get older, I realize how much I like doing corny festive activities to get into the holiday spirit. Especially with finals, sometimes it is really hard to have that Christmas spirit in December. That is someone no one told me about a transfer. As I have gotten older in college, finals have become harder and more stressful. December runs right by me because I am so preoccupied with finals. I decided to not let it this year, sort of.

The last time I saw my friends Audrey and Sam together was my Disneyland day with them on Sept. 1. We all go to CSUF and struggle to even see each other on campus. I see them more outside of school than I do at school. I asked them on a whim if they were free and luckily they were! Audrey and I are seniors and Sam is a first-year graduate student so we're all crazy busy! One of the reasons we love hanging out with each other is that we always make each other feel better about our school load. It can be really easy to lock yourself up in your hermit hole of a room filled with assignments. The only way I feel better is by remembering to reach out to people when I get like this. I am so unmotivated for college when I feel alone during the semester. The ice skating night was just what I needed to remember I am not alone in my feelings at CSUF.

This brings me to my other friend Ariana and her podcast. I was a guest on her Titan Radio podcast, Hart to Heart on Nov. 30. She is also a communication major with a concentration in journalism and knows exactly what I am going through. Sam and Audrey are not and I still love them to death but my journalism friends knows what the workload in our major is like more. She really comforted me in everything we both have to do for the semester and reminded me something. A piece of advice for transfers from that day was to reach out to people if you are struggling with the loneliness of this new era of your life. You never know how they can help you and I am sure they want to as much as you want to help them. Let them help you help yourself.💙
