💻 Midterm Frenzy Weekend (October 12 - 15, 2023)

🎉 As a senior at CSUF, the week of midterms brought udder chaos to my life academically. I was filming multiple class projects as well as taking photos for class articles. My life was consumed with the large projects given to me for that week. To help, I holed myself in the library many days that week, which surprisingly is not a place I frequent as much as I should for homework. Midterms and finals are really the only times I really need the extra focus and motivation from the students around me.

One of the most challenging parts of this week had to be my personal obligations as well. This week was also one of my busiest weeks personally. This weekend was my mom's birthday. For her birthday, my mom used our family timeshare for a week in Palm Springs. As a senior, I could not stay the whole week but I knew I could try to do the weekend for her. Family has always come first in my life because of how close I am to them. It was one of the weekends my professional and academic morals clashed with each other the most.

I take my academics very seriously and this weekend I had a paper due for my American Studies class that was worth 50% of my grade. Because of this, I didn't get to enjoy my weekend with my mom and sister at all. I was stuck at the dining room table of the timeshare rewatching class lectures to make sure I knew the material enough to write a paper on it. I was very nervous for my grade. Up until senior year, I have always been able to breeze through college without it interfering with my personal life too much. This was one of the weekends where my midterm load was so heavy, I could not enjoy my time with my family at all due to my chronic state of stress and anxiousness about doing well on this paper.

Another piece of big advice I have for transfers is remember the rigor of CSUF's courseload. It is harder and more mentally demanding than the work at the community college level because they are upper division classes now. 📝
